The Fijian's by tradition have revered sharks as their returning ancestors.  White tip sharks in particular hold a special place.  On the night before my last dive, when Fiji had already shown me everything I had come to see, I noted that this could be my first trip without seeing any barracuda.  On the last dive, I saw a white tip shark in the sand and swam over to see it.  This temporarily separated me from the group.  The white tip shark swam away, and when I turned about, a school of several hundred barracuda came by.  No one else saw these.
